The Premier League is the most bet-on football league in the UK, so bookmakers build most of their weekly promotions around it. That means you’ll find Premier League betting offers almost every matchday, from new-customer free bets to acca boosts and price specials. This guide explains how each type works and which markets suit a free bet. It also covers the key 2026/27 dates.
Premier League 2026/27 at a glance
- Season: Friday 21 August 2026 to Sunday 30 May 2027.
- Format: 20 clubs and 380 matches.
- Boxing Day: matches on Saturday 26 December 2026.
- Common offers: welcome free bets, acca insurance and boosts, bet builder offers, price boosts and early payout.
- All offers are 18+ and T&Cs apply.
When does the 2026/27 Premier League season run?
The season kicked off on Friday 21 August 2026, when Arsenal hosted Coventry City. It ends on Sunday 30 May 2027, when all ten final-day matches kick off at the same time. These dates come from the Premier League’s official fixture list.
The league started a week later than usual because of the 2026 World Cup. According to the Premier League, this gave players 33 days’ rest after the World Cup final. The season also has 33 weekend rounds and five midweek rounds, so there’s football to bet on most weeks.

Types of Premier League betting offers
Bookmakers run two broad groups of Premier League betting offers. Welcome offers are for new customers only. Meanwhile, matchday specials are usually open to existing customers too. Here are the main types, each with a quick example.
Welcome free bets
These are the classic “bet £10, get £30 in free bets” sign-up deals. You place a qualifying bet, and then the bookmaker credits free bets once it settles. For example, you bet £10 on a home win at evens. Whether it wins or loses, you then receive your free bets. Our free bets comparison lists the current welcome offers side by side.
Acca insurance and acca boosts
Acca insurance refunds your stake, usually as a free bet, if exactly one leg of your accumulator loses. For example, you back five Premier League home wins with £5. Four win but one draws, so you get a £5 free bet back. An acca boost, by contrast, adds a percentage to your winnings if every leg wins. Our acca insurance guide covers the conditions in detail.
Bet builder free bets and profit boosts
A bet builder combines several outcomes from one match, such as a win, over 2.5 goals and a player to score. Some bookmakers give free bets that only work on bet builders. Others add a profit boost, for instance 25% extra on winnings. So if a £10 bet builder at 5/1 would return £50 profit, a 25% boost makes that £62.50. Our bet builder explainer shows how these bets are priced.
Price boosts
Here a bookmaker lengthens the odds on a selected outcome. For example, a favourite to win might go from 4/5 to evens. That looks generous, but boosts often come with a low maximum stake. Also compare the boosted price with our odds comparison, because another bookmaker may offer something similar.
Early payout and “2 goals ahead”
With this offer, your match result bet pays out as a winner if your team goes two goals ahead. Then it doesn’t matter if they later draw or lose. For example, you back a team at 2/1 and they lead 2–0 at half-time. Your bet settles as a win, even if the match finishes 2–2. However, it usually applies to pre-match singles only.
Free-to-play predictor games
Several bookmakers run free weekly games where you predict scores or results. You don’t stake anything, yet correct predictions can win cash prizes or free bets. Still, the top prizes are hard to win, so treat them as a bit of fun.
Money back specials
These refund your stake in set situations, for example if the match finishes 0–0 or if your first goalscorer scores second. Refunds are usually free bets, capped, and limited to one named match. Also, check which markets qualify before you bet.
Which markets suit a free bet?
Most free bets pay out the winnings only, not the stake. Because of this, a free bet at very short odds returns little. For example, a £10 free bet on a 1/4 favourite returns just £2.50 if it wins. The same free bet at 3/1 returns £30. Our guide to how free bets work explains this in more depth.
So many people use free bets on close matches. Others prefer markets such as correct score or first goalscorer. Longer odds mean a lower chance of winning, though, so there’s no perfect answer. Meanwhile, people who use matched betting approach free bets differently, with their own maths.
Also check the terms before you pick a market. Some free bets exclude bet builders or accas. Others, in contrast, can only be used on them. Our acca and bet builder free bets guide covers those offers.
How to use Premier League betting offers step by step
Claiming a welcome free bet for a Premier League game only takes a few minutes. Follow these steps, and check the terms at each stage.
- Choose an offer. Compare the free bet amount, the minimum odds and the expiry period, not just the headline figure.
- Register and verify. Sign up with your real details, because bookmakers must check your age and identity.
- Place the qualifying bet. Match the minimum stake and odds. Our qualifying bets guide explains the common rules.
- Wait for settlement. Most offers credit the free bets once the qualifying bet settles, usually after the match.
- Pick your Premier League match. Check the free bet hasn’t expired, and that the market you want is allowed.
- Place the free bet. Select it on the bet slip, then confirm. If it wins, you’ll receive the winnings but not the free bet stake.
If you’re new to all this, our easy sports offers are the simplest to claim.

Staying in control over a long season
A season with 380 matches and weekly promotions can add up quickly. It’s easy to bet on games you had no plan for, or to chase a bad weekend. So a few simple habits help:
- Set a monthly budget and don’t top it up mid-month.
- Use deposit limits. Every UKGC-licensed bookmaker lets you set them in your account.
- Pick your matches in advance rather than betting on every game.
- Don’t chase losses. Premier League betting offers are a bonus, not a reason to bet more.
- Take a break if it stops being fun. Our responsible gambling page lists free tools and support.
