Tips for getting the most from it

First, have the bet slip or the offer terms open while you use the calculator, because the result is only as accurate as the odds you enter. Then, enter each price exactly as the bookmaker shows it.

For example, if a selection is a non-runner or the event is cancelled, mark it as void so the calculator treats it correctly. After that, change one number at a time, so you can see what really moves your return.

Finally, remember that the calculator shows what a bet would return, not whether it will win. In addition, compare prices across bookmakers before you place a bet, and set a deposit limit first.

Because each chapter is short, you can also rewatch one step at a time. Then, once the idea makes sense, compare the current offers and pick the one that suits you. Meanwhile, keep an eye on expiry dates, since most free bets only last a few days. Above all, only bet what you can afford to lose.

About this video: How to Use the Acca Calculator

How to Use the Acca Calculator walks through our free tool for working out the odds, return and profit on any accumulator.

First, the video shows you how to enter your stake and each selection’s odds. Fractions, decimals, American odds and evens all work. For example, 6/4, 2/1 and evens give combined odds of 15, so a £5 acca returns £75.

Next, it shows how to set each leg’s result. A void leg, such as a postponed match or a non-runner, counts as odds of 1.0, so the acca carries on at shorter odds. In contrast, one lost leg loses the whole bet, which is why accas pay well but lose often.

Finally, it covers acca boosts and free bets. A boost applies to your winnings, not your stake, so a 10% boost lifts that £75 return to £82. With a free bet, however, the stake isn’t returned, so the same boosted acca pays £77, all of it profit.

However, rules and offers change. For that reason, we check every video against the Gambling Commission and other official sources. In fact, we last checked this one on 13 October 2026.

Here's how to use the Sports Compare acca calculator, to work out the odds, return and profit on any accumulator.

First, enter your stake. If you're betting with a free bet, change the bet type to free bet, so the stake isn't counted in your return.

Next, add each selection's odds, typed just as they appear on your bet slip. Fractions, decimals, American odds and evens all work, and you can add as many selections as you need.

The calculator multiplies every leg's decimal odds together. Six to four, two to one and evens make combined odds of fifteen, so a five pound acca returns seventy-five pounds: a seventy pound profit.

Now set each leg's result. If a match is postponed or a horse is a non-runner, mark it void. It counts as odds of one, so the acca carries on at shorter odds. Here, the return drops to thirty-seven pounds fifty.

Mark a leg as lost, and the whole acca loses. That's why accas pay so well, and also why they lose so often: every leg has to win.

If your bookmaker offers an acca boost, enter the percentage. The boost applies to your winnings, not your stake, so a ten percent boost takes the return from seventy-five pounds to eighty-two.

And with a free bet, the stake isn't returned, so the same acca pays seventy-seven pounds, all of it profit.
